All Quiet on the Western Front

This weekend I finished the audio book “All Quiet on the Western Front” by Erich Maria Remarque, a German veteran of World War I. I’m so glad I’ve never had to personally endure the trials of war; particularly all of the front-line hand-to-hand combat that was described with such disturbing detail in this book.
