Last night I barely completed my first VMworld 2011 lab, “Improve Troubleshooting and Performance Tuning for Your Virtual Environment,” because the lab itself was having performance problems.
It looked like about a quarter of the lab workstations were vacant. There were lines of attendees waiting, so there wasn’t a shortage of interest.
WiFi access at the conference has also been spotty. There’s a good signal but sometimes no IP or gateway.
This is a big conference (12,000 to 14,0000 people) so there is high demand for these services.
Lastly, the maze through casinos and shopping malls makes getting to the conference center a challenge. Last year’s venue in San Fran worked better.
Despite these complaints I’m thrilled to be here and hope to learn a lot more about VMware solutions.
