My guest this year for the Indianapolis 500 were Peace Corps buddies Darren McLaughlin, Justin Long, and Hans Anderson. I served in Guyana with these guys three years ago. It was great having them in town, sharing old stories, and treating them to the race. As you can see, I think they had a great time.

The main host for the weekend is always George Spasyk. George is a former executive vice president of Lambda Chi Alpha. He holds about 80 or 90 race tickets, which he reserves for staff and their guests.
On Monday, George and some of his guests were featured in the Indianapolis Star.
Rookie and veteran fans, too By Rebecca Neal
For some, attending the Indianapolis 500 is a yearly tradition.
Others pass through the gates for the first time unsure of what to expect.
They all came to Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, however, to see “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”
Good times Jason!!
Did you ever actually swear in as a Peace Corps Volunteer? It does not appear that you did, so I don’t really see why you call yourself a “returned” PCV…
