Monkeying Around in Beijing

Posted Thursday, May 24th, 2007 at 9:48 am

After a 12 hour flight, the four of us arrived in Beijing, China, around 5:30 a.m. We began exploring shortly thereafter.

In this clip, my brother falls off the monkey bars in a park; giving us great comic relief.

We explored some ancient neighborhoods, visited an elementary school, ate lunch in a local’s home, and stood in awe at the base of some elaborate Buddha. Sorry, we weren’t permitted to take photos of the Buddha, but I did catch this nice image of a monk.

Departing for China

Posted Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007 at 9:20 am

I depart today for China, meeting the parents and brother in Los Angeles. I have my iPod packed with music and podcasts, a digital camera to take lots of photos, and 44 pounds of luggage.

When I go on long trips, I tend to pack as many unwanted items of clothing as I can muster. That way, I can wear the item one last time and discard it, lightening my load as I go. The only downside is I look hideous in all my travel photos.

By my count, China will be my 47th country. If I’m lucky, I’ll also knock off two Medieval Wonders from my list: the Porcelain Tower of Nanjing and the Great Wall of China.

I’ll post updates during my travels when I can. You might also want to monitor my Flickr account for uploaded images.

For the folks at Threshold Productions, it’s time to break out the flip flops and suntan lotion for National Lampoon just purchased international theatrical distribution rights for their film “The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell.”

My brother served as the film’s director of photography, editor, and co-owner. His film was featured at the Los Angeles Film Festival in summer 2006.

According to Cameron, National Lampoon is planning for theatrical release in 15 markets in October and full DVD release in February 2008. Congratulations bro.

Threshold of Hell - trailer 2

Sounds like my brother’s movie “The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell” will be included in the Los Angeles Film Festival line-up. Looks like I’ll be making a trip out to LA either the weekend of June 24-25 or July 1-2. Cameron has posted three trailers for the film online for you to enjoy.

Threshold of Hell TeaserMy brother Cameron Pearce and his parterners at Threshold Productions have been busy putting the finishing touches on their upcoming movie “The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell.” Today, he released three teasers, and I have to say his work keeps getting better.

If three teasers aren’t enough for you, head over to their offical website to view the trailer and some other multimedia clips.

Or, if the edge of hell is too daring for you, check out some of my brother’s latest projects, which include a Jewel video, a Neyo video for Nokia, and a few other movie clips.
